Q1 Earnings and Guidance Roundtable

By Elliott H. Gue on May. 15, 2020

Results and guidance updates are now in across the energy industry, from drillers and producers to pipelines and refiners. We discuss our most important takeaways, and how they’re informing our strategy going forward of accumulating positions in sector survivors to ride the eventual recovery.

Q: What’s your most important takeaway from this earnings season? Did anything in particular surprise you?

RC: If there was one thing that surprised me about this earnings reporting season it was the number of companies in our Model Portfolio and High Yield Energy List that were able to set earnings guidance for the rest of this year. We’ve now posted highlights in the Portfolio portion of the past couple issues of EIA.
