Although midstream master limited partnerships’ (MLP) lack of exposure to commodity prices make these names most suitable for conservative investors, this segment of the market has been one of the hottest over the past 12 months, exposing the group to a momentum-led decline.

Accordingly, one of our goals heading into the National Association of Publicly Traded Partnerships’ (NAPTP) annual investor conference was to identify midstream names that hadn’t been bid to the moon but were more than capable of facing down whatever challenges had kept them out of the rally.
